A Testimony!

A young man Chris had mentored in high school was way off track in his life as a freshman in college. As he read this he began to sob and the Lord wooed his heart to connect back with Chris. He is rediscovering the joy of the Lord that comes from spending time with God and reading His Word. We challenge you to be bold and use your Facebook for Jesus.

WILL YOU CHOOSE TO WALK IN JESUS JOY?

This beautiful little bird is called The Woodland Kingfisher and is found in a few countries of Southern Africa. Chkk-Chirrrrrrrrrrrrr is the shrill trill call of joy that I mimic to give testimony to the joy of Jesus in my life. It truly is a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Try it sometime it will make you and others smile! If you want to hear the sound, just call my voice mail: (832) 515-7022. Have you ever thought of the fact that PRAYER is a gateway to joy? Look at what God’s Word says in Isaiah 56:7 -
“Even those I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer.”

God says He will make us joyful when we pray!! So if you are feeling blue or sorry for yourself just ask God to give you someone to pray for and then be expectant because He will!

Here is a little PRAY NOW story from my short trip to the Woodlands Church Prayer Fountain to write this Ignite issue!

I’ve just stepped out of my car to cross the road to the Prayer Fountain and “oops there is a car coming at me!” It stops and the driver waves me on. I wave back and smile a big thank you to the driver who then opens her window and says “Hi, you are in my spinning class!” Oh yes, I do recognize her and we exchange names then I ask my favorite question: “If there was one thing I could pray for you, personally, what would it be?”

She had a pain in her shoulder and was very frustrated! I prayed very simply and encouraged her to drop the load and forgive people who are causing her frustration. Her countenance changes, her eyes sparkle, we say goodbye and off she drives! Now as you are reading this story, I invite you to stop and imagine yourself asking this same are thinking: “No way, can I ask a perfect stranger what’s the one thing I can pray for them! OK remember we are choosing joy! Let me show you how easily Satan can steel our joy! The dark spot in your heart that causes you to say “NO WAY!” is plain and simply “PRIDE!”

Read God’s word in Philippians 2:2-3 and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal why you are not willing to pray for others!

“Make my joy completeby being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.  Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others."

One of the most beautiful ways you can regard someone more important than yourself and look out for someone’s best interests is to pray for them. You ask them what is the TOP concern on their hearts, the ONE THING I can pray for you and then you take that concern to the King of the Universe! See! No matter what the prayer is when you, as the Prayer Igniter, are expectant of God working and you ask Him to do according to His Word, God will do it! He brought joy into both our lives due to a one-minute interchange that led into the throne room of heaven!

Praying in The Honeymoon Anointing

In last month’s issue I encouraged you to intentionally keep a honeymoon attitude. One-way to do this is just like moments ago my Darling got up and walked in to greet me. I could have just looked up from my computer and said “Good morning my Darling” and got on with the newsletter. Instead, while greeting her, I stood up, walked over to her pulled her into a gentle “Prayer Hug”, then prayed: “Good morning Lord, thank You for today, thank You for my precious wife, fill us and our sons with Your Holy Spirit of joy today, in Jesus name we pray, amen.” Remember praying out loud with your spouse daily drops the divorce rate from ½ to 1/1153 that’s a 99.86% chance of success. If you have not prayed with your spouse today call, text, or turn and PRAY NOW!
